Polyamory & Ethical Non-Monogamy: A Training for Therapists

Join us for a 2-hour workshop CAMFT and AASECT approved CE event designed to help clinicians confidently support clients exploring polyamory, open relationships, and other consensual non-monogamous (ENM) structures. Using an affirming, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive lens, this training will explore relationship agreements, communication, jealousy, attachment, consent, and relational resilience — without pathologizing clients’ experiences.

The objectives of the training are as follows:

  • Objective 1 : Review ways to Increase the client’s ability to communicate needs, boundaries, agreements, and expectations clearly and directly within consensually non-monogamous relationships.

  • Objective 2 : Help support the client in identifying and managing emotional experiences such as jealousy, insecurity, attachment concerns, shame, or fear while strengthening self-awareness and relational resilience.

  • Objective 3: Learn to work with clients to help them develop relationship structures and coping strategies that align with their values, identities, consent practices, and desired levels of intimacy, autonomy, and connection.

    Participants will leave with:

    • A clearer understanding of the ENM spectrum and current terminology

    • Practical tools for supporting clients navigating relationship transitions

    • Clinical strategies for working with jealousy, insecurity, attachment, and communication

    • Skills to help clients build healthier, values-aligned relationships and relational agreements
